MMIA Employee Benefit Changes 2024

After 20 years of successfully providing quality benefits, your self-funded medical plans are getting an upgrade to be more current for Montana cities and towns and your employees.  While change can seem scary, these are not big changes and result in overall positive improvements to the benefit offerings.

Changes Effective July 1, 2024

  • Simplified plan options: 3 standard plans.
  • Slight increase to deductibles and out of pocket maximums.
  • Reduction to monthly rates to mitigate annual adjustment increase.

Reasons for the Changes

  • Required IRS compliance update to HDHP to remain HSA qualified.
  • Provide meaningful options to help employees leverage monthly contributions to select the coverage they need.
  • Provide competitive coverage comparable to other employers and the marketplace.
